The competitions are open to students, teachers, designers, professionals, and the inspired design community. Are multiple entries allowed for submission? or can we submit multiple projects in one entry? Participants are free to submit multiple entries or projects, but each entry must be registered by a separate email ID. How does a team receive their unique registration code? All the participants will only receive the unique registration code after completing the registration process. The code will be mailed to your registered email address within 24 hours. If you didn't find the mail, we request you to please check your spam folder of the mailbox before mailing us for the same. Is hand-drawn sheets allowed in the competition? Our country is vulnerable, in varying degrees, to a large number of disasters. Most of us will remember the year 2020 for the coronavirus pandemic. However, while the pandemic brought our human lives to a standstill, nature could not be reigned in. ​ Amidst the raging pandemic, India survived cyclones, floods, rains, biblical plagues, industrial disasters, locust attacks, and whatnot. ​ The challenge is to design a transportable, sustainable shelter that can support a sizable community and requires little maintenance. Mango Architecture does not accept any changes made to any proposal once submitted by the participant and if made would not be accounted to be valid. The users and the participants are requested to submit their works or proposals only once they have finalized their submission. By submitting the proposal to Mango Architecture's submission portal, the participants agree to submit original content and are not copied, inspired, or derived from any other individual or author. In case such discrepancy is brought to notice the participant would be disqualified without any intimation and would be held liable to any compensation to be made to the original author. By placing personal names or any means to identify who a team is on submission, other than the given identification number, a team may be subject to disqualification. Winning teams must provide a valid method to accept monetary rewards within one month of the award being presented. Failure to receive monetary awards on time may result in the award being revoked. Competition participants will receive their individual or team confirmation number after completing registration. This number is used for identification purposes throughout the jury voting process. Any submission that does not include this confirmation number as stated or incorrectly may be subject to disqualification. Mango Architecture holds the right to change competition dates as it sees fit at any time as well as revoke any promotion or competition without further notice. Mango Architecture holds the right to adjust deadlines throughout the duration of a competition, as well as the right to disqualify late submissions. In the event of a temporary deadline extension, Mango Architecture holds the right to accept or accept and penalize late submissions by a level determined by the organizers. Each competition jury is carefully chosen by Mango Architecture to best represent a valid and fair opinion for each project. The competition jury may change during the competition and stated jury members are not guaranteed to participate as final judges. Once registration is completed no refunds before or after the competition’s deadline will be granted. Competition awards of any manner are subject to change throughout the competition. Additional awards may be added; awards may be subtracted or altered at any time. It is the participant’s responsibility to regularly check the website and be aware of any changes. Mango Architecture reserves the right to publish submitted work on the Mango Architecture website and any other platform that seems fit. Mango Architecture aims to publish competition work on as many platforms as possible, and individuals and teams agree to these publications upon submission. Mango Architecture reserves the right to dictate the method of payment, whether physical, electronic or to be accepted by a specific platform (Such as PayPal, Razor Pay, Pay U Money, etc.). Mango Architecture is in no way liable for the designs submitted by participants and teams. It is the responsibility of the participants to create original work. Winners and finalists of the competition on Mango Architecture agree that they will participate in any interviews or publicity matter upon reasonable request. Any winning amount will be transferred to the participant only after receiving the required interview video within a month's time after the result has been announced. Mango Architecture is not responsible for any in-person site analysis and research. Mango Architecture does not own the sites on which the competitions are held and therefore participants must abide by any local private property details and the relevant law. Members and/or representatives of Mango Architecture or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition. They are, however, encouraged to submit ideas for special mention but cannot win or be part of the formal competition. The closing date for entry will be on the time and date set on the competition announcement. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted. Mango Architecture will not accept any responsibility for entries not received within the permitted time, for whatever reason. Here, we would like you to generate proposals that focus on the strengths of communities, upholding the dignity of humanity and supplanting current, dominant urbanizing biases. Do we have to select one particular disaster and area of application or we are looking at a module that can fit in any affected area? We are looking for a module that can actually fit in any kind of disaster affected area as per the requirements given in the competition brief. Is the design project should be cosidered more like a temporary structure or permanent building? The project should be considered as a temporary structure, as it will be a module and can be transported to other disaster sites if required. What about the services and toilets in a temporary shelter? Being a temporary shelter that must be quickly built and functioning, chemical baths or recycling technology can be used. Should we need to design seperate "assistance area"(medical and psychological care areas)?" As you know that an emergency can affect a very large number of victims, so it would not be possible to have everyone housed in the assistance area. the victims will stay for short periods according to the needs of the single case and emergency. Is there any height limit for the project? There is no height limit as such. Only ground floor is required to avoid structural complications. How many team members are allowed to form a team? A team can consists of total three[3] members including the team leader. If you want to register individually, you are most welcome. What is the nature of the competition and is it open for all? All Competitions organized by mango architecture are open ideas design competitions with no intentions to execute the proposals submitted in any form. The competitions are open to students, teachers, designers, professionals, and the inspired design community. Are multiple entries allowed for submission? or can we submit multiple projects in one entry? Participants are free to submit multiple entries or projects, but each entry must be registered by a separate email ID. How does a team receive their unique registration code? All the participants will only receive the unique registration code after completing the registration process. The code will be mailed to your registered email address within 24 hours. If you didn't find the mail, we request you to please check your spam folder of the mailbox before mailing us for the same. Is hand-drawn sheets allowed in the competition? Yes, they are allowed, participants can scan and mail them to us at submission@mangoarchitecture.com Just follow all the submissions guidelines carefully. Is the competition judged anonymously? All entries are reviewed anonymously by the competition jury. Upon registration each team receives a unique registration code, this code is the only mean by which submissions are identified. Can we change/swap team members after the registrations? Teams are welcome to add, remove, or swap team members as long as their total members do not exceed three. What should the participants do in case the payment modes are not available in our country?
